Lot #1224 - In approximately 1881, prior to the inauguration of Yellowstone Park, this carriage was one of a group of 15 ordered from Abbott-Downing Co. Concord, NH. The chassis and leather "thorough brace" support system are ver similar to the historically renowned Concord stage coach. The 3 seats are covered with a sunroof and at one time was equipped with side curtains. The brakes are hand or foot activated. Leather covered rear boot for storage. This Yellowstone carriage is one of few remaining representations of the early Yellowstone Park era.
