Description
Lot #353.1 - Original restored 1953 Chevy Bel Air convertible. Restored a decade ago, the car was stripped to the frame, all parts were rebuilt or replaced and repainted. The lower rear quarters and trunk pan were replaced from a rust-free donor car, lots of hammer and dollie work and little Bondo. Very straight body was blocked and shot with original color Sungold Yellow enamel and original style tuck and roll yellow and white vinyl interior was installed and covered by a white vinyl top. The Blue Flame 235 was rebuilt, new clutch and original 3-speed transmission were painted and installed. The stainless trim was buffed and bumpers and ornaments were chromed. Has original glass and frames. Still has 6 volt system and radio works great. The 6 volt top motor is in the car but needs rebuilt. Currently raise the top by hand. The car rides on original style wide white wall tires and rims with full moon Bow Tie hubcaps. Has been featured in the Good Guys magazine in fall 2007.
