Description
Lot #743 - Automotive coachbuilding was at it's zenith in the 1930's with beautiful art inspired designs, and this automobile with a minimalist art deco design is a great example of that era. It makes for a great classic street rod look. This 4 year transformation from stock to street rod was completed in 2005. A new state-of-the-art chassis was purchased from Outlaw Performance to get this project started. Muscle Car Restorations was selected for the professional build that was set to meet a very high standard. The power under the hood is a 355cid/400hp with a manual valve body 350 transmission and narrowed 9" rear end with 4-bar suspension. The intake manifold is polished vintage Offenhauser cross ram with a polished solid billet aluminum valve body 4-barrel carburetor to top it off. This rare and unique combination makes for a great looking engine compartment. Clean and cool. Mustang II suspension with Heidt's polished stainless steel upper and lower control arms and a polished billet aluminum rack and pinion steering unit. Again clean and cool. Disc brakes on all 4 corners with polished billet aluminum calipers. Porsche savanna leather and suede make the custom interior very elegant. LED taillights that just about disappear when not on. This whole package is wrapped in a PPG color that has to seen to be appreciated. The final result is a creation that is vintage, understated and elegant to compliment the original Body by Fisher design. Up to this auction this automobile has been flying under the radar.
