Description
Lot #971 - This 1971 'Cuda convertible was used as a daily driver until the early 1990's before a complete ground-up restoration was started. The car had some rust due to it being driven daily. The original engine and transmission was long gone when the previous owner purchased the 'Cuda. It was stripped down and placed on a frame machine. All rusted sheet metal was replaced. After all sheet metal was replaced it was then put on a rotisserie. All body work was done as well as new paint. The car was then reassembled using many new parts. The car is now a very solid convertible. During restoration the owner took the liberty of changing the original color from gold to the now white. The Cuda has been upgraded to a 1969 date coded built 440cid engine with high performance cam, Six Pack carburetors and intake installed. The car currently has a Keisler 5-speed transmission. Also added were power disc brakes and air conditioning, as well as the go-wing on the rear deck. The initial restoration took about 2 to 3 years with some interior work being done later. Practically everything on the car has been rebuilt or replaced. During restoration all air conditioning components under the hood were installed new. Car is in excellent condition and can be driven anywhere. You can drive and enjoy it the way it was intended to back when this Cuda was new. It is a very nice show car as well as excellent driver.
