Description
Lot #7 - These wagons took the place of the Canestoga wagons, which were far too large and did not function in a farm setting. Many cross-country immigrants used this type wagon because of its versatility. It starts out as a farm wagon, then becomes a covered wagon and upon arrival at the immigrants destination reverts back to a farm wagon. These wagons were the trucks of their day and could accommodate 1,500lbs-7,500lbs depending on their construction. Easily converted to 1 board wagons for light uses or 3 board wagons for heavier uses or chuck wagons. They are very versatile and a mainstay in our early history. Own a beautiful handcrafted original piece of American history.
