Description
Lot #350.1 - Spectacular 1951 Chevy custom. The build began with removing the stock head light rings and using a custom Frenched Jaguar style headlamps. Items removed next were the door handles, badges, emblems/ornaments and the stainless steel trim on the doors and front fenders. A custom bullnose seam runs down the center of the hood. 1954 Chevy taillights were then integrated into a smooth non-bucket tail lamp. The firewall was smoothed and the car was then painted in a beautiful PPG Pale Orange with a Champagne Pearl roof. Both bumpers were replaced with California one piece units. All stainless and chrome have been polished to a brilliant finish. The exterior is completed with a set of Budnik Tiller wheels wrapped in performance tires. The interior features a 3 piece headliner, custom back seat, bucket front seats all stitched in Ivory Allante. The dash features custom digital Dakota gauges in stock housings. The clock was removed and the original radio location is now the center vent for the Vintage Air unit. The stereo is located in the glove box while the air ride controller is located under the driver's seat. The steering column is Camaro with a Budnik billet and leather steering wheel. The shifter and e-brake are Lokar. The engine is a GM crate LT1 upgraded with Crane Gold full roller rockers, custom SLP headers and a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. The ECU is a custom Howell Engine Development unit with a modified chip. The transmission is a street/strip version of the Rossler Turbo 350 and a 4" all aluminum Tex Racing drive shaft delivers the horse power to a 9 inch ford rear. The basic foundation starts with a stock Chevy chassis with every component removed. The front suspension is a custom RB's clip with Air Ride tubular control arms and Shockwaves and the rear suspension features a triangulated 4-bar system with billet aluminum adjustable shocks. Braking consists of Baer Racing's Pro Plus polished calipers with 13" 2 piece rotors and hats on the front and 12" 2 piece rotors and hats on the rear. This Chevy was featured on the Mother's car show series, won ESPN's Award of Excellence 3 years straight, Top 10 Chevys of the Year, ISCA award winner, Custom Rodders top 10 and is a feature and cover car in several magazines.
