Description
Lot #34.2 - This is a 1946 Chevy 1/2-ton Resto-mod. I have taken great care to make the truck look original for the purist but added small feature that make it pop, more fun too drive, and appeal to the custom crowd. The truck was completely taken apart down to frame and rebuilt back up by myself. Every nut and bolt was gone through, all new wiring and brake system and rebuilt suspension. The engine is a 235 straight six but disguised to look like an original 216 six engine that would have been in the truck originally. The only thing giving this away is the custom dual exhaust and split manifold. The transmission is a four speed and the rear end has a higher ratio to make her go down the road a bit easier. The body was sand blasted to bare metal and reworked from there. The bed is all new galvanized metal and the bed wood is custom milled clear oak with 7 coats of clear and then buffed and wet sanded to a mirror finish. The paint is all original colors(export blue and black fenders and boards), but has 14 coats of clear over it and there is a silver and red pinstripe around cab to match red stripes on all the chrome. The Grill is original 1946 not redone and in mint condition, all other chrome is new or redone. The interior on a glance is all original, the dash was painted in the proper Hammertone Beige, the doors were done in a gloss beige and all trim screw rather than painted were replaced with polished stainless steal for a bit of sparkle. The seat is the original that came with the truck but was redone with extra cushion and reupholstered in ultra soft black leather and tuck and roll stitched. The truck took about five years for me to redo and has been done for about three years. I have less than 1500 miles on the truck but make sure it is started and ran frequently. The truck satisfies both purists and custom/rod fans for the trucks uniqueness and looks great going down the road in the sun and has been a show winner. Everything about this truck has been gone through.
