Lot #75.1 - This vehicle captures the essence of Harley Earl's vision for Cadillac. The vehicle has undergone a restoration to bring it back to its original splendor. This Cadillac has been mildly customized to retain the original beauty but with a few modern conveniences for better motoring. A modern air conditioning system, radial tires, Cadillac style wire wheels, digital radio with 10 disc changer, Dyna-Mat sound proofing and THM-400 automatic transmission. This car has been restored to drive. The engine underwent a complete teardown and rebuild by a machine shop. All necessary components were replaced or refurbished to like new condition. The original Carter carburetor has been replaced with a new Edelbrock. A modern air conditioning system was custom fabricated and installed in the vehicle to provide ultimate climate control for passenger comfort. This Cadillac was painted with a base coat/clear coat system in very striking Lavender metallic color. It was color sanded and buffed to provide an ultra high gloss finish. All the upholstery is completely new, finished I cream and Dove Gray leather grained vinyl. The entire vehicle is also lined with Dyna-Mat to provide a whisper quiet ride. The entire brake system was overhauled including a rebuilt power brake booster, rebuilt master cylinder, new wheel cylinders and all new brake linings. The power steering gear box was also overhauled.
