Lot #338.1 - Stunning example of a show winning 1969 Camaro convertible with power front disc brakes and power steering. The car has just been restored to a high level and is a favorite everywhere it goes. Featured in Camaro Performers April 2009 edition and won awards both days at Gainesville Super Chevy Show. Garnet Red paint is original for the car. The color combination of red and white throughout is very eye catching and this car gets attention wherever it goes. 18" Foose chrome Nitrous rims are the jewelry that set off the Garnet Red paint. Nearly every part on this car has been restored or replaced with OEM and reproduction parts. The original X55 code has been upgraded to a 396 c.i.d. and presents as a 375hp L78 very well. The motor has been completely rebuilt and is a date correct 1969 396 big block, Holley 750 double pump carb, oval port bowl blended heads with stainless steel valves, Edelbrock aluminum intake. TH400 automatic transmission has also been rebuilt with 2800 stall converter. Body panels replaced with Goodmark parts: fenders, full quarters, door, trunk lid, floor and toe boards, trunk floor and drop-offs, both partial outer wheelhouses, tail panel. Tail panel, inner and outer dash, rocker panels, glove box and ash tray were all painted single stage DuPont Hot Hues Hot Rod Black. Subframe and most suspension parts were powdercoated black. Cockpit floor and trunk pan treated with Por-15 to combat corrosion. B-quiet sound deadening installed on cockpit floor and in doors. Electrical parts replaced: Classic update wiring kit, breakerless ignition system, big block tach, ignition and turn signal switch, original am radio, dash speaker, new T3 headlights, DSE RS headlight system with reverse lights at rear of car, wiper switch, all light bulbs, all lenses and housings, plug wires, battery cables, starter, solenoid, alternator and battery. Most interior parts have also been replaced. New convertible top installed in June. This is a high dollar restoration.
