Description
Lot #45.4 - PHS documented, matching numbers, frame-off rotisserie restored. We started this project with a 1969 Firebird that was an all original well preserved candidate. The car was completely stripped. The body was then placed on a rotisserie for a complete makeover. The car was sand blasted down to the metal surface. We coated the body with etching primer and surface primer then painstakingly block sanded the entire car. Once the body was ready for it's final assembly, the entire car was painted with etching primer, surface primer and body color paint. The freshly powdercoated frame was installed with all new components. The rear springs and differential were powdered and installed with new components. Disc brakes were then added with original Pontiac disc brake brackets. New brake, fuel and master cylinder lines were run. The original engine was rebuilt and upgraded, using GM equivalent Ram-Air III cam and real GM 330hp fuel delivery components. The engine was, as it started life, the original matching numbers base hp 2-barrel. The intake and NOS 4-barrel Quadrajet carb used for this upgrade are code correct HO components. The Turbo 400 transmission, original to the car, was rebuilt. The interior is mostly original in exceptional condition. New carpet, dash pad and door panels were used. We added a genuine date correct Rally gauge pack and clock. Everything is new or reconditioned. The car comes with a complete photo album on CD of the restoration process, step by step and the PHS documentation.
