Lot #1018 - This 1968 Shelby GT350 was produced on January 12, 1968 at Metuchen and shipped directly to Jim Fisk Ford to be used as a Hertz Rent-a-Car in Los Angeles, California. Only 223 Shelbys were ordered as Hertz cars in 1968 and only 31 of those were ordered in this Candy Apple Red/black interior color combo and had factory air conditioning. This original California Shelby is one of the rarest Hertz cars in existence. Complete with matching numbers 302-4V engine, C4 automatic transmission and 3.50 rear axle, this Shelby has just undergone a complete 2-year rotisserie restoration, retaining all of its original sheet metal and fiberglass. Documentation for the car includes the original Build Sheet and both the Deluxe and Personal Statistic Marti Reports. This car is #01145 as listed in the Shelby American World Registry.
