Description
Lot #1047 - The designation Super 88 began to be used by Oldsmobile in 1951 to distinguish such Deluxe 88 models from the Standard 88 models. The superb example of the 1957 Oldsmobile Golden Rocket Super 88 convertible you are viewing today was 1 of only 7,128 produced in 1957, but it has the further rare distinction, for a convertible of it's vintage, of being equipped with factory air conditioning. It has Oldsmobile's 317cid V8 engine producing 277hp. The original cost was $3,447. The 1957 Oldsmobiles were rather cleanly styled. Frame-on restoration 8 years ago. All chrome on front and rear and many interior items have recently been re-chromed to show quality. Car has been driven less than 300 miles under current ownership.
