Description
Lot #346 - The September 2008 "Legendary Fords" magazine featured a story about this car in an edition devoted to "original survivors" and they said that "I doubt a finer example of a 1959 Galaxie exists today." Sold new at Hiatt Motor Company in Glenwood, Iowa on October 24, 1959, this car has always been kept away from rain or snow and was always stored in a heated garage. 352cid Thunderbird Special V8 with dual exhaust and a factory 4-barrel, automatic and ice cold Montgomery Ward air conditioning. Runs, drives and functions great. A true 17,299 original mile "Box A" car. Purchased from the heir of the original owner. Original owner's manual, sales receipt and title application. Lots of paperwork and receipts, even the car dealer's business card. Notice the rare Club Victoria 2 door hardtop body style. This was a late addition to the 1959 model line up and was advertised as "The glamorous new Galaxie is married to the elegant Thunderbird." Amazing original condition, not restored.
