Description
Lot #81 - This 1956 Thunderbird had a ground-up restoration in 2004 and has only 75 test miles since the restoration was completed. The reason only 75 miles were logged on this car over 5 years was that this car became a trailer queen and was trailered to car shows, parades, etc. The Thunderbird was repainted to the original color Code "L", Peacock Blue with Colonial White hardtop. The interior trim, Code "XC", was replaced with the original trim package of turquoise and white vinyl. New carpet and head liner were also replaced with new material. The engine and transmission were overhauled and the exhaust system was replaced. The brake system was also replaced. The final touch of the restoration was re-chroming or replacing the chrome. The engine in this Thunderbird is the "Y" block 312cid called the Thunderbird Special V8 with under the hood chrome dress up kit. Horsepower rating for this 312cid V8 is 225. The transmission is a Ford-O-Matic. The electrical system is 12-volt. This T-Bird is equipped with the Town & Country radio and it has two tops, a white softtop and a Colonial White removable hardtop. This Thunderbird was built on the 5th of December, 1955 at the Ford Motor company's Wixom, Michigan plant.
