Description
Lot #692.2 - I purchased this Corvette new in July of 1970. The exterior paint is Bridgehampton Blue and interior is bright blue vinyl. Options include a L46 350/350hp engine and a burglar alarm. It has a standard 4-speed transmission, 3.36 posi-traction rear axle and an AM/FM radio. I have all the documentation including Protect-O-Plate, sales receipts, owner's manual and tank sticker. As a line mechanic at a GM dealership in suburban Atlanta, I personally maintained the car with GM parts. I can say that 90% of the components that came on the car are still on it. The carpets and seat covers are exact replacements. The car underwent a complete frame-off restoration in 1998 and 1999 with no expense spared. The car was presented for judging at the NCRS Kings Mountain Regional on 9/10/99 and was awarded an NCRS Top Flight with a score of 99.4%. The car then passed the NCRS Performance Verification in Orlando, FL on 1/14/00 with the required 100%. In July 2000, the car was Flight judged again in Bowling Green, KY at the NCRS National convention where it received a 98.7% Top Flight and the coveted NCRS Duntov Mark of Excellence Award. The most remarkable thing about this car is the fact that it is a one owner car and the level of care it has received over the years is unique. I bought this car from Timmers Chevrolet in Atlanta when I returned home from Vietnam in the summer of 1970. I drove it for a few years and during the years my daughters were learning to drive, I tucked it away for safe keeping. In 1998, when I brought it out of hiding, I did a complete frame-off restoration. I never thought of changing the originality of the car and went to great lengths to make sure that everything that came on the car, stayed on the car.
