Description
Lot #950 - 439 original miles. A true survivor and one of the world's lowest mileage 1950 Chevrolets. Sold new at Helm Chevrolet in Modesto, California to Mrs. Jessie Trueblood. Mr. Trueblood died of a heart attack while fishing shortly after they purchased the car. The Chevy was then parked for the next 12 years with just 413 miles on the odometer. Next door to Mrs. Trueblood was a car dealership owned by Mr. William Wilson. In 1962, Mr. Wilson traded her a new Rambler for the 1950 Chevy. He then drove the Chevy home and parked it with 433 miles on the odometer. There it sat or the next 45 years. In 2007, Mr. Wilson reluctantly decided to part with the 433 actual mile Chevy. Today the car has just 439 original miles and retains the original 235cid/90hp 6 cylinder engine and automatic transmission. Practically everything imaginable is factory original including the paint, upholstery, chrome, glass, exhaust, shocks, tires, etc. Also included is the original 1950 California title, the last registration for 1963 and newspaper story of the car.
