Description
Lot #971.1 - Before you today is one of the baddest factory Mustangs built by Ford in 1970, a real documented 428 Super Cobra Jet with 4-speed Toploader transmisson and the Drag Pack option. This car was purchased brand new at Bob Rice Ford in Boise, Idaho and stayed there until the present owner discovered it in 2004 and began the 2 year MCA rotisserie restoration. This restoration is truly beautiful and the mechanicals are dialed into perfection for any drive you have in mind. The entire car was dipped to remove all impurities and then the restoration began with great attention to MCA/factory build specs. The drivetrain is numbers matching with date codes and casting numbers correct. All chrome and glass were either refurbished or re-plated to perfection. The original black interior is in great shape and shows very well. The undercarriage of this car is the way it left the factory and deserves the time to look underneath to see the attention to detail needed to pass the strict MCA Judging guidelines. The color on this car is very rare and really adds to the sleeper package of this Mustang. Ford called this color Light Ivy Yellow and it really pops on the Mach I when combined with all of the blackout treatment. Only 879 total cars were painted with this color and only 857 total cars were built with the Super Cobra Jet option. These numbers make this car one of the rarest Super Cobra Jet cars ever made and to find one in this condition with a numbers matching drivetrain and Marti Report is a once in a lifetime opportunity for any Serious collector. Documentation includes original dealer stickers outlining all options, Marti Report, owner history and restoration history. Other features include fully restored and detailed undercarriage, original black interior, bucket seats, AM radio, Rim Blow steering wheel, clock, 8000RPM tachometer, spoilers, slats, racing mirrors, pop top gas cap, twist-in hood pins and so much more.
