Description
Lot #1252 - This rare all steel '35 Ford 3 window coupe is known as "Timeless" and was built by Lakeside Rods & Rides to resemble the luxury cars of the 1930's. The car's actual construction started with a TCI frame that was stretched 2" in the front. Both the TCI Mustang II front suspension and the Currie 9" were suspended on Aldan coilovers and capped with Wilwood disc brakes. The sleek body was transformed with a 2.5" chop, a filled roof and the firewall was moved back 4" to clear the motor. The body was also given a 2.5" wedge section for a natural, eye-pleasing rake. The wheelbase was already stretched 2" and as a result, the 3-piece hood with custom side vents was stretched to match. The front fenders were also lengthened and lowered. The hood was pancaked 1.5" and the grille was laid back 1.5". The tail lights and bumpers were gleaned from a later 1937 Ford and all of the fenders have reworked openings. The one-off wheels measure 18x7 in the front and 20x10 in the back, are painted a soft metallic color and feature a custom V8 emblem in the center cap. The engine is a powerful 402cid from Roush Racing with a trick eight-stack fuel injection set up. It contains CNC-ported aluminum heads and is dressed up with polished aluminum valve covers and air cleaners and uses a C4 automatic transmission. The elegant basket weave upholstery is made of Palomino leather and accents the body color dash with a custom dash insert containing custom gauges. The interior is made to be both functional and tasteful and features cross-weave inserts, color matched carpet, beautiful stitch work and a removable panel for hidden storage.
