Description
Lot #682 - This Buick is 1 of 101 Stage 1 4-speeds built in 1972. It is 1 of 3 Stage 1 4-speeds painted in GM Silvermist. The matching numbers drivetrain was long gone when I purchased the car so I decided to Resto-Mod it. In 1972 GM incorporated the engine size in the VIN number of all their vehicles. The letter V represents a 455cid Stage 1 engine. The car had a photo documented 1,200-hour frame-off rotisserie restoration completed in 2007. The paint is PPG base/clear coat duplicating the original factory Silvermist color. Only NOS parts were used for metal work and I spared no expense when it came to performance and handling. The engine is a 1970 race ready Buick 455 bored .030 over. Forged pistons with 12:1 compression. The transmission is a TKO-600 5-speed overdrive, McLeod clutch and pressure plate, Lakewood scatter shield, custom driveshaft with Spicer U-joints and driveshaft loop. Hurst shifter, TA Shorty headers, 3" exhaust with Q-Tech electric header knock outs, Global West front and rear suspension, Buick 10-bolt posi-traction with 3.42 gears. TA girdle and anti-squat bars. 4-wheel disc brakes, 17" billet aluminum Buick rims with Mickey Thompson 275/40R17 ET drag radials on the back and Pirelli 225/45ZR17's on the front. Stock black interior with woodgrain trim and factory bucket seats. The car has been on the ISCA show car circuit for the past 2 years and is a 2-time international champion in 2007 and 2008 season. The awards do not go with the car.
