Description
Lot #638.2 - Since the 1939 Ford coupes were so popular in the mid '40's through the mid '50's with NASCAR, as well as customizers, you very seldom find one that is unaltered. This 1939 Ford Standard 5 Window coupe is one of those few unaltered versions. The body on this '39 coupe is beautiful. Painted in Henry Ford's favorite color, black, you can see this paint is incredible. All of the chrome, glass, stainless trim and lenses are in excellent condition. The design of this 1939 5 Window coupe was way ahead of its time with the headlights blended into the front fenders, the split rear windows, blue dot tail light lenses and the spider wheel hubcaps with the wide white wall tires. The interior remains very clean and stock with the 3-speed manual transmission. This was the final year with the shifter on the floor. This '39 Ford also has the crank out windshield. Under the hood of this '39 Ford is a clean engine compartment that is home to a Flathead V8 engine producing 85hp. The shifting is provided by the 3-speed manual transmission. What a beautiful car. The 1939 Ford Standard 5 Window coupe continues to play a big role in American automotive history.
