Description
Lot #719.1 - This LeMans Blue 1969 Camaro RS/SS convertible has its original Window Sticker, driveline, all matching numbers L78 396cid/375hp big block engine and TH400 automatic transmission. In 1969 a total of only 4,889 L78's were built, since most of these cars were bought specifically to race, only a small percentage of them were convertibles. The thought was that coupes were lighter, more aerodynamic and more rigid than their topless counterpart. It has an "X22" exterior trim code and was built at the Norwood plant during the 2nd week of December. As for the car's condition, it has had a full body-off restoration completed in 2007, which included a complete rebuild of the entire driveline. It also has less than 67,000 original miles and runs and drives great. Lastly, all options such as the convertible top and hide-away headlights are in good working order. The 4.10 gearing was replaced with a 3.73 ratio for drivability reasons; however both will be included with purchase of the car. Documented with the original Window Sticker.
