Description
Lot #671 - Here is a beautiful, ultra rare 1954 Kaiser Darrin sports roadster in excellent condition inside and out. This is a very solid California and Arizona car that received a full body-off restoration in early 1990's and has been in a few private collections and museums ever since. This car is #67 of only 435 Darrins ever built by the Kaiser-Frazer Corp. in its one year of production. The car is totally correct from front to back with excellent fit and finish. This car was in production before the 1953 Corvette and is considered the first production fiberglass automobile in the US. It was designed by Howard "Dutch" Darrin, international auto stylist, who designed the Packard Darrin as well as a considerable number of other cars. The Kaiser Darrin is the only production sliding door automobile in the world.
