Lot #388 - Originally a 6 cylinder, a five year "labor of love" restoration created this exciting and functional Camaro SS 396 using modern advances in technology to create a user-friendly modern classic. All concessions to practicality are easy to change back to stock or original if desired. Body, hood, doors, trunk, fenders and front were removed and body shell was stripped to bare metal. All panels are original sheet metal that is very straight with no rust. Meticulous preparation, including several coats of paint made multiple wet-sandings possible. Features Corvette Rally wheels for better grip and all four corners of suspension have modern replacement bushings throughout. All components were disassembled, refinished, re-painted and has upgraded springs, shocks and sway bars, rebuilt 12-bolt posi-traction rear axle 3.73, new TKO 5-speed transmission, disc brakes, and rear power brakes with proper proportioning valves were added. The 396cid big block motor was professionally built from bare block up delivering 450+ hp on 92 octane pump gas. The engine was balanced and blueprinted and has refinished crank and rods, ARP fasteners throughout, forged piston, reworked ported and polished heads matched to block and intake, mild cam, hidden MSD Ignition, high-capacity cooling system, 4-core aluminum radiator, high capacity water pump valves, ceramic-coated headers, new dual exhaust, new complete interior, weather-stripping, felts and trim all refurbished or replaced.
