Lot #1268.1 - This was the 1962 Lincoln Continental used by President Kennedy and his wife Jackie when they visited the Kennedy compound in Palm Beach, Florida. They used it when they went to the Catholic Church on Sunday mornings and Jackie used it when she went shopping on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, Florida. One can imagine the President's family riding in the Lincoln when time was available for personal enjoyment. The Lincoln was purchased by A.K. Roart in the Summer of 1963, before President Kennedy was assassinated in November of 1963. Mr. Roart later donated the auto to the Elliott Museum of Vehicular Evolution in Stuart, Florida. The auto remained in the museum until it was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth E Mausolf of Denver, Colorado, who were internationally known for their fabulous collection of antique, classic and special interest autos. After years of negotiation, Carr's One-Of-A-Kind-In-The-World Museum captured this prominently celebrated automobile. The Lincoln has a V8 engine, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power seats, power antenna, automatic transmission and air conditioning. The interior appears in its original Persian Blue with seats in excellent, original condition. The mechanics are original and well maintained. This 1962 Lincoln Continental comes with the following documentation: a newspaper article reflecting the Lincoln gifted to the Elliott Museum, a letter from the Elliott Museum of Vehicular Evolution, and a letter from the Martin County Historical Society. Plus pictures of Kennedy getting out of the car in "Life" magazine and rare photos of JFK, Jackie and the family provided in 1976 by the General Services Administration.
