Lot #1266.1 - You are looking at a gorgeous 1968 Shelby GT500 muscle car. This car is well documented, it still has the original build sheet and Marti Auto Works report. A previous owner was a stickler for originality, in the mid 90's this previous owner rebuilt the motor, transmission, rearend, brakes, front end, air conditioning, carburetor, alternator, pump rear springs and shocks. Since then, the car has been meticulously maintained. In 1992 the car was repainted its original color, Gold Metallic, which is rare for these cars, only 270 were originally painted this color. This Shelby still has its original 428 4V engine. Also glass, chrome, wheels, lights, lenses, bumpers, emblems, gauges, wipers, mirrors, handles, console, hood latches, seat belts, radio and antenna are all original. This car still has its original interior as well and is in outstanding condition. This GT500 came loaded with options: visibility group, wheel lip moldings, sport deck rear seat, power steering, power front disc brakes, tilt away steering column, air conditioner, AM radio, tinted windows, tach and trip odometer. Car runs and drives like new. You'd have to travel back in time to find a Shelby much more original than this.
