Lot #346 - In 1955, General Motors put Cadillac at the top of its pedestal of perfection offering cutting edge features such as power steering, power brakes, seats and window lifts. Their Fisher bodies can only be compared to European luxury cars. Chevrolet looked to Cadillac and Harley Earl's design genius to boost its lagging sales. Once again "Motor Trend" in 1955 called the Cadillac "the hottest car of the year." Less than 500 miles have been driven since the completion of a correct body-off-the-frame restoration. Has a dreamy Wedgewood Green Centari exterior and white base clear top with just a hint of pearl. The glamorous interior features correct nylon metallic fabric and the finest genuine leathers. Power window lifts fore and aft and seat adjustments at the touch of a button. There are individual ashtrays and cigar lighters in each side armrest in the rear compartment. Bright and brushed chrome hardware and stainless steel molding adorn the interior of the Coupe De Ville, all sitting atop Coker wide white walls and Cadillac crested stainless sombrero hubcaps. The stock, totally rebuilt and balanced 331cid overhead valve V8 boasted many improvement including a raised compression ratio of 9:1 and improved valving boosting the horsepower to 250 with 345 torque. Hardened valve seats provide compatibility with unleaded regular gasoline. All other systems have been either rebuilt or re-conditioning as required. The total front end rebuild was done including brake shoes, cylinders, booster and master cylinder. Many new replacement parts and accessories provided by McVey's. Extensive re-chroming and all new steel rubber throughout. New mufflers and pipes as well as stainless gas tank.
