Lot #1228 - The 1955 Chrysler C-300 introduced the first HEMI engine to America. The 1955 Chrysler C-300 is a luxurious high performance 2 door sedan. Its dual 4-barrel 331 HEMI engine that produces 300hp. It is an extremely rare car with only 1,725 produced with a fraction of those remaining today. It is white in color with a tan leather interior. It is currently owned by its 3rd owner. The car was professional restored by the second owner who owned it for 48 years from 1960 to 2008. The car has been re-painted, re-upholstered and re-chromed. This 300 remains in outstanding condition, finished in white with glass-like paint that was professionally applied, polished to a very high luster, and complemented with beautiful glass and brightwork. Much like the exterior, the interior is beautiful with new tan leather upholstery, door panels, headliner and black carpeting. Its powerful HEMI engine sports a bat wing-type gold air cleaner. In addition to the 300 hubcaps and wide white wall tires, this car is also equipped with such features as power brakes, power steering and the original working AM radio. The frame and undercarriage are clean with no rust or rot and fully detailed. The headlights, turn signals and tail lights, as well as the windshield wipers, heat and all gages with the exception of the clock work. It has a new radiator. The starter and the starter relay have been rebuilt. The engine is beautifully detailed and just underwent complete tune-up with fluids, plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, points and valve cover gaskets all replaced. The trunk compartment is freshly detailed with new cardboard and carpet set. This car runs fantastic and drives effortless down the road.
