Lot #1245.1 - "Basket Case" - A concept and design by Jack Barnett with approximately 100 body modifications to every area. Modifications include the windshield chopped, laid back and is frameless, cowl smoothed, vent removed, hood humps reversed and opened, fake brake vent removed, front end lengthened 2.5", headlight rings molded and frenched, parking lights removed and smoothed, bumpers removed and smoothed, lower valance smoothed, grille opening molding molded, '62 nose emblem floated into grille opening, turn signal inside headlights, air vents in front of hood opening, inner fenders reshaped and smoothed, firewall reshaped and smoothed, all exterior chrome and stainless removed, door handles hidden, remote power hood, all wheel openings reshaped and gas filler removed. Powered by a C5 Corvette LS1 engine with polished intake by Weind/Holley, nitrous oxide by NX, pulleys, air cleaner and header by Street and Performance, carbon fiber engine covers by Ecklers, stainless engine trim fabricated by Time Machines, remote operated hood fabricated by Time Machines, polished aluminum radiator, 4L60E automatic transmission, shortened torque lube and driveshaft and audio system by Sony. The original '56 side rails were used with the stamped VIN retained. The front suspension consists of Jim Meyer racing control arms, SIO spindles modified by Baer Brakes, Flaming River steering rack and Borgson Joints, coilover shocks. The rear suspension includes custom fabrication, C5 Vette suspension, 4 coilover shocks, narrowed C5 axles, stainless brake/fuel lines, transmission cooler, stainless exhaust, Flowmaster mufflers, front brakes by Baer with 12" rotors, rear C5 calipers with 14" Baer rotors, and Colorado Custom Alcatraz wheels that are 18"x8" front and 20"x12" rear. The tail lights are molded into body, rear bumpers removed and smoothed, rear license plate electrically operated, all under-body areas smoothed and finished. The dash has been straightened and smoothed with a new Dakota Digital dash cluster made from the original speaker grill bezel and steering column bezel and relocated to fabricated center console. Has a tilt steering column by Ididit, steering wheel by Colorado Custom, all switches and controls hidden, billet pedals/shifter, door panel coves molded from door exteriors to match outside body lines, and black leather upholstery by Ultimate Interiors. The trunk is power operated and houses a stainless fuel cell and audio amplifier.
