Description
Lot #198 - This frame-off restoration 1968 Charger R/T is equipped with the 4-speed manual transmission and 440 Magnum motor of which only 2,743 were ever built. This fine example is a very rare true red-on-red optioned car. There are less than 85,000 original miles on the odometer; very few of these miles have been put on since the restoration completion in 2004. Options include center console, bucket seats, passenger side mirror, 26" radiator, AM radio with 8-track tape, tinted windshield only, drip rail molding, body belt molding, wheel lip molding, 9.75" axle, sure grip, PP1 red roof/red body mono, Charger Special R/T, 2 door sport hardtop, 440cid Magnum with 375hp and 4-barrel carburetor, 3.54:1 ratio DANA rear end, built Aug 28, 1967, Hamtramck, MI, white bumblebee stripe, A833 4-speed manual. Galen Govier documented fender tag decode and custom registry letter for this Charger R/T prove that this is a very rare car: one-of-one known to exist as optioned, documentation included. This very rare red exterior/red interior color optioned Charger also has Rally gauges with the Tick-Tock-Tach, fender and hood mounted turn signal indicators, Magnum 500 wheels and Firestone Supreme SI redline tires. The vehicle has a date code correct motor, an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and Flowmaster exhausts that produce a fabulous rumble.
