Lot #188 - This car is a fully street legal replica of the famous Shelby Daytona Coupe. Powered by a Ford 302-4V small block with a Tremec 5-speed transmission with mid shift. The chassis is Factory Five Racing powdercoated tube frame with independent front and rear suspension with coilover shocks. The steering is manual rack and pinion. 4-wheel manual disc brakes control the stopping of the PSE replica wheels and the BFGoodrich TA Radials. The 302 has aluminum intake, Holley 4-barrel carburetor, side pipe headers, serpentine belt drive with aluminum pulleys, mild cam and dura spark ignition. The body is Factory Five hand-laid Vinylester resin composite shell with 3/16" laminate. Interior and floor panels are all sheet aluminum. This car was professionally purpose built with all new components, no donor car was used. The interior is fully carpeted with stained-wood dash and door panels. Five point Simpson Harnesses, vintage low back racing seats with leather embroidered seat covers, and a foam headliner completes the cockpit. The dash is well arranged with full instrumentation including English style gauges with left sweep speedometer. Pedal box includes AC type racing pedals. Fuel system includes fuel cell, electric pump, pressure regulator and racing type simulated cap. Comfort comes from vintage style 134A air conditioning and heater/defroster. Entertainment system includes an awesome stereo with flip up DVD-player screen. A racing aluminum radiator with electric fan and overflow tank keep things cool. The front windshield is DOT safety glass and the side and rear windows are lexan and plexiglass.
