Description
Lot #474.2 - An extremely rare car, the Nomad for 1958 was the top-of-the-line Chevrolet wagon offering and was not a high volume model as it was the most expensive car in the entire lineup. The car we are offering here was a rust-free Texas car to begin with and has undergone a total, professional, body-off restoration to a very tastefully done reconfiguration and Resto-Rod status. No expense was spared to build this stunning car with a goal of show-quality appearance from top to bottom and the performance, reliability and safety of a modem performance car. It is easy to see the beautiful exterior finish on the straight, perfectly fitted body with every piece of exterior trim restored to perfection, but one look underneath will reveal where no expense was spared on the quality-built chassis and running gear. Awesome performance is achieved with the fresh 400hp 383 Stroker Chevrolet crate motor backed up by a rebuilt 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission and driven through a narrowed Ford 9" rear with the stopping power of 4-wheel disc brakes. A full custom 4-place interior with a multitude of interesting details is another high point of this car and it is also fitted with air conditioning for cruising comfort. This head-turning car is a blast to drive and seems to settle in nicely at highway speeds and seems to elicit more smiles and thumbs-up than any car we have recently had the pleasure of driving. No disappointments here. A rare car built right and sorted out to be ready for lots of fun for the next lucky owner.
