Lot #467.1 - This is the first time this fine example of a PHS documented 1964 Pontiac GTO convertible classic muscle car has been offered in 40 years. Bought from the original owner and meticulously updated by the present owner of over 40 years. The car has less than 52,000 original miles on the body. The car is black with parchment interior and white top. The engine compartment is extensively detailed with lots of chrome and houses a 1964 421 Tri-Power block rebuilt to exacting specifications by Jim Butler performance of Leona, Tennessee. The transmission is a Muncie 4-speed with Hurst shifter. The rear end is a 12-bolt with a 4:11 gear ratio by Richmond Gears. This vehicle combines the original styling with today's modern performance technology. The following is a list of the original options: power steering, power brakes, power windows, power drivers seat, tilt with simulated wood steering wheel and chrome center cap, bucket seats, center console, power top, AM/FM radio with rear quarter mounted power antenna, tachometer in-dash and exhaust splitters. Numerous additional upgrades include the following: Butler Performance engine specifications include Eagle Rods with Ross pistons, race rod bearings, nitrated crankshaft, D-port heads with High Performance Plus valves, Torker II intake manifold with Demon carburetor (detailed engine Build Sheet available), Centerforce clutch and pressure plate, aluminum driveshaft, MSD ignition and Rodney Red custom aluminum radiator with dual fan set-up. This vehicle was assembled like a piece of jewelry and is definitely unique and one-of-a-kind with a list too numerous to mention. Anything and everything has been chrome plated. The following items were chromed: the entire differential, the gas tank, the crossmember, the upper and lower control arms, all of the steering arms the springs and shocks, all the suspension, the radiator support, power disc brake assembly and many other pieces. The frame-off restoration on this rust-free beauty included dipping the frame and using epoxy primer and wet sanding the entire undercarriage then painting with black imron.
