Description
Lot #169 - Ram Rod 350. 1 of only 26 produced in 1969. The color is Cameo White which is #50 on the Build Sheet. It has a black top which is #2 on the Build Sheet and a parchment interior. This car's body was produced on January 14, 1969. The body was #50 produced. Somewhere on the line, this car was given a W31 motor with a dual snorkel breather. That is why there are no power brakes. The reason was because it came with a 308 duration cam and the motor was not capable of holding enough vacuum pressure to operate power brakes. We are the car's fourth owner. The vehicle has the original miles on the motor of 78,000. Other features on the car are a 12-bolt rear end, plastic inner fenders and all 442 body braces which are original to the car, boxed out suspension that only came in W31 cars, dual snorkel breather, no power brakes, no air conditioning and no tilt wheel. It has a 350 distributor, cast iron intake, special quad-jet carburetor, heavy duty valve springs, harmonic balancer and 350 exhaust which is original to the car. It has a 4-blade fan. The fan was replaced and the fan clutch was removed at some point. Fuel line has a special bend in it that is unique only to the W31 motors. Thanks to the Oldsmobile Heritage Society, Year One and the internet, the car has been documented for what it is. A rare W31 car. The car is as it would have been in 1969 when it came off the production line. Original Build Sheets are present. This car is truly a sweet cruising convertible with lots of room for the discernable collector. Restored by DSC Customs and owner Tony Daves of Morganton, GA.
