Description
Lot #441 - The car was purchased in June of 2003. This '61 Cadillac had been stored in a barn in Soap Lake, Washington. The owner considered the Cadillac to be show quality and was very proud of its original condition. It looked very good in its photos, however the paint was cracking in many places and had a few small dents and scratches. There was minor rust sitting in the driver side trunk well and the in the driver side floor pan. All of the interior trim pieces, complete dash board, steering wheel and all the gauges are original. Correcting the minor rust and the paint was done in a high tech paint booth that was environmentally controlled and used 8 coats of paint that was professionally completed. The original 390 motor has never been overhauled but in 1972 the engine had the heads removed and re-seated the valves. The 4-speed hydra-matic transmission has never been repaired or replaced nor the rear end differential. The improvements added are power disc brakes on front, new hp firm shocks, new high output master cylinder, all new brakes complete. All moving parts of undercarriage have been replaced, re-serviced and all rubber parts replaced. The complete interior in leather and vinyl as per factory original. New convertible top. The total restoration took over 4 years to complete. The vehicle is also equipped with a Lo-jack system. The car has a 100-watt custom auto sound, AM/FM stereo, CD player with Cadillac head unit in dash. Drives like new.
