Lot #792.1 - This amazing show piece began as a '62 Impala hardtop. Derick Samson then began by removing the roof and windshield top frame. An all steel construction process took place including the roadster body theme which includes a handmade package tray with two rear bucket seats molded into a headrest. A 1950 Chevrolet dash was widened 8" and includes handmade trim and one-off gauges. A one-off ultra leather interior rests inside the futuristic body. Custom-designed glass now creates an essence of movement at all times. The body was cut, wedged and widened 1" to exhibit full proportion from removing the roof. A 350cid engine rests inside an all handmade engine bay. Custom valve covers reading "Emerald SS" add to the elegance of the creation. A 350 transmission, round tube suspension and Air Ride finish the bottom of the show car polished undercarriage. Awards include Best in Show at the 2007 Detroit Autorama, World's Most Beautiful Custom Engine, Interior, and Detail at the 2006 Sacramento Autorama, ISCA Best Paint, Interior and Best Hand-built Custom plus many more.
