Description
Lot #929 - Un-restored 1964 Impala SS. Options include a 283 with Powerglide transmission, power steering, two speed wipers, factory tinted glass, 2 spoke wood steering wheel, front and rear GM accessory floor mats. Most of the paint is original. It is as nice, solid and straight as any un-restored '64 you will find. This un-restored '64 Impala SS can be driven as is, or it would be an excellent car for a high end, correct restoration. It's smooth and quiet. It still has a stock single exhaust. Under the hood is as it should be, not greasy, not restored, its still as it left the factory. The spark plug wires are correct date coded. The alternator is the factory original and has the correct date codes. Correct battery cables and all four T-3 headlights are present. Brake system has been rebuilt. The car was built at the Southgate California plant, VIN letter code U. This was a fairly low production plant. It has a closed PVC system that was only found on CA built cars in '64. All of the interior is original and nice. The radio works fine, the gas gauge is accurate, turn signals work and cancel correctly, the horns work, even the "cold" light works. The original seatbelts are in great shape, the webbing is still soft. The shifter console is awesome, it looks almost new. The trunk still has the heavy gauge, factory original mats and the original splatter finish that can't be duplicated. There is no rust repair and there is none needed. This car is solid. All the panels fit nice and the doors open and close perfect. All the windows crank up and down like new. All the trim and moldings on the car are original, they look and shine like new. The SS hubcaps are extremely nice. They are not badly dented or scratched as most are. It is rare to find a 64 Impala SS that has survived as well as this one. This '64 can be seen in the "American Muscle" car series on SPEED in the Impala Super Sport episode. Cars assembled at the Southgate, CA plant had two letters representing the paint code. One letter for the main body of the car, and one letter for the top. In this case "CC" means white body and white top.
