Lot #307 - The Mercedes-Benz 250SL is the second iteration of the W113 body style, more popularly known as the "Pagoda" coupe/roadster, because of the unique shape of its roof line. The car is quite advanced for its era, having 4-wheel disc brakes, all independent suspension and a 2.5 Liter overhead cam, mechanically Fuel Injected, 6-cylinder engine. This vehicle is equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission, removable hardtop and hidden softtop. The 250SL is the rarest of the W113-bodied cars, having been built only in 1967 and 1968. This was one of the most popular cars that Mercedes Benz ever built. The exterior of this vehicle is in impeccable condition. The panels are absolutely straight and the gaps are excellent all the way around. This car was given a proper repaint. All trim and rubber parts were removed and the car stripped down to bare metal, then sprayed in a correct Mercedes color for the year, Helengraut Blu. The paint was finished in December 2007. All Chrome and trim on this car is all in excellent shape. The door, trunk and top boot weatherstrip were all replaced with correct rubber after the paint job was completed. The headlight and taillight lenses are all very nice and clear. The trunk is in like new condition. The spare, jack and accessories are where they should be and in great shape. The trunk mat is in great shape also.The interior of this car is in fantastic shape. The seats, headliner and door panels are all original. The new correct carpet was done in December 2007. All of the wood was refinished and it looks fantastic. The front and rear windshield along with the window glass is in excellent shape. The top of the dash is perfect and the gauges and dash face are all very nice. All gauges work. The interior of this car is really amazing. The engine was removed from the car and gone through by a Mercedes specialist with over 30 years experience. Any worn parts were replaced with factory supplied parts. Over $5,000 was spent bringing this car up to excellent mechanical condition. All hoses and belts have been replaced. The car starts and runs nicely and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly. The engine bay was correctly painted in body color paint and looks fantastic. Brakes work well. The engine is very well tuned and adjusted. The tires are Goodyear Integrity P195/70R14. The tires are like new and have virtually no wear. The wheels are in great shape. The hubcaps are correctly painted in the body color and are very nice.
