Description
Lot #690 - I am the original owner selling the 1972 Chevy Chevelle SS 454 that I ordered special on March 28, 1972, and picked up at the local dealership on May 10, 1972. Always garaged and covered for all 35 years. Original Bill of Sale, Window Sticker and Chevrolet sales brochure. Original paint, interior and carpet all in beautiful condition. Equipment list: custom deluxe belts, tinted glass, strato bucket seats, floor mats, door edge guards, center console, sport stripes, posi-traction axle, Turbo-Jet 454 V8, Turbo Hyrdro-matic 400 transmission, sport steering wheel, special instrumentation, SS equipment and heavy duty battery. 50,080 original miles on the car, ALL IN CENTRAL FLORIDA. I was a foolish teenager in 1972 and I modified the engine several times over the first few years. I let the original block get away back then. It never crossed my mind about matching numbers at that time. I built the current engine in 1994 using high performance parts that I had collected over the previous decades. The engine in it in 1994 was smoking on startup due to valve guide wear. I wanted a fresh engine in the car to drive it to my 20 year high school reunion. The large numbers on the block are T0309CPF and the small numbers are 11B176150. The "Chevrolet by the Numbers" book shows that the current block did indeed come in a 1972 Chevelle with a Turbo 400 transmission. This engine build only has 870 miles on it and is a wonderful engine with good idle, great low end torque and recommended shift point at 6200 to 6500 RPM. Engine list: Big port open-chamber headS with the small spark plugs, aluminum intake, .030" oversize 10:75 to 1 Speed Pro pistons, Crane torque cam, steel cross drilled crankshaft, double roller timing chain, camshaft button, roller rocker arms, etc. I do not have the original heads or intake. I do not have the original SS wheels. It has Crager mags. I changed the real axle ratio to 4:10. Bottom line. This car is a documented, one owner beauty with 50,080 original miles on the car and 870 miles on the rebuilt engine. The engine has been modified, rear axle ratio changed and Cragar wheels installed. AN ORIGINAL OWNER SALE CAN ONLY HAPPEN ONE TIME, DON'T MISS THIS ONE.
