Description
Lot #1536 - This is no ordinary range-picker. It's a 1984 Porsche 944 that Jesse and company transformed into a player-harassing, ball-snagging monster. The cars moving part is a pull-wing door powered by 300-pound AutoLoc electric linear actuator. The ball collector moves up and down by the driver's side power window mechanism. A 100V motor-driven golf ball conveyor lifts balls from lower collection bin to cannon hopper. There are animatronic golf-ball clown eyes to scare golfers. There is also a custom-built 3-barrel nitrogen-powered rapid-fire golf-ball cannon. All the glass was replaced with approximately 30 square feet of expanded steel, custom wing. The biggest challenge for the team was moving the golf balls from the lower collection basket to the cannon hopper without jamming. The transition from a stock Porsche 944 to a range picker was a challenge.
