Description
Lot #431 - Most fire trucks, pump out water. Jesse took things his typical one step further, teaming up with the brewmasters from Coors and Stone Brewing Co to convert a fire truck into a brewery. Stainless-steel sanitary welds were performed on all the brewery tanks and fittings, with the stainless cooling coil requiring 23 separate welds on a 1" pipe. In addition, a perforated stainless steel screen had to be cut, welded and sized to fit a curved-bottom tank. This includes a stainless steel brewery, dairy and food-service tanks, a variable-speed (0-11) 220-volt to 110-volt frequency drive for the 1hp wash down centrifugal pump, a stainless steel counter-current water/beer heat exchanger, two 180,000BTU propane burners, a high-flow propane regulator with a 100lb propane bottle, a self-contained glycol chiller unit, miscellaneous stainless-steel fittings, hose barbs, Tri-Clover adaptors, stainless-steel valves, beer hose, stainless piping, a carbon dioxide tank, a regulator, tubing and an oxygen bottle with regulator and a draft system, cooling coil, insulated beer line and draft faucet mounted to the existing fire pump on the front bumper of fire truck. They removed all hose reels and hose from the fire truck, dismantled the storage lockers and reinforced the frame for a new steel floor, which they then fastened. They also framed the wheel well fenders and shrouded them in new steel, covered the floor frame with sheet steel, welded all brewery tanks in place and mounted the propane burners on custom stands. The team's biggest challenge was making sure all the brewery systems worked together as one unit.
