Description
Lot #74 - This mostly all-cop team converted a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria squad car into a mobile doughnut shop complete with coffee maker and pastry display case. The moving parts are three electronic actuators. Additional machine parts were Belshaw Bros. Inc. doughnut-maker and robot. Body modification include "suiciding" the rear passenger door, removing the rear hinges, pinning down the trunk and cutting a hole out of the trunk in order to fit the doughnut maker. The biggest challenge for the team was fitting the doughnut-making mechanisms into the car. Scotia, New York Police Chief John Pytlovany who assisted on this donut driver said that building the conveyor belt was the biggest challenge. "It had to be in three sections and made out of stainless steel, and we had to be able to remove it from the car for cleaning. Our first attempt at bending the steel for the sides failed. This was a key element to the conveyor belt, and we were all worried after that day. The next day Brian Armstrong and Mike New found a place that had a large brake and were able to create the pieces perfectly. Even though we had a lot of work left to do on the conveyor we knew that we were home-free." THE TEAM: Jesse James, custom-bike builder/designer, West Coast Choppers, Long Beach, CA, Brian Armstrong, police helicopter pilot, Long Beach, CA, Alan Dively, food technologist, Dunkin' Donuts, Braintree, MA, Jay Hillebrandt, doughnut-equipment technician, Belshaw Bros. MONSTER SPECS: Tires: 45/35/20 tires by Toyo Proxes; Wheels: 20" gold Enzo spinning wire; Interior: Stitchcraft black and white vinyl racing seat; Height: 56.8"; Width: 78.2"; Length: 212"; Ground Clearance: 6.1"; Weight: 3,900 pounds. **SOLD ON A BILL OF SALE ONLY.
