Description
Lot #1502 - "A skillful balance of power, road-holding and sophistication endows the Cobra with capabilities that carry it well past traditional pony car parameters" -Automobile, January 1996. This Rio Red, high-performance Mustang with black leather interior was a limited production of only 1,131 units. The engine/body combination was introduced in 1996 and won Motor Week's Driver's Choice Award, Automobile Magazine's All-Stars List and Ward's Automotive listed the engine as one of the world's ten best. In 1997, the hand-built aluminum Teksid block came with 305hp. The Vortech Super-charger and power-cooler, along with other engine modifications, have a dyno rated 425 rear wheel horsepower. All that power breathes through a stainless steel Bassani exhaust from the manifolds back to the polished tips. The massive 13" cross-drilled/slotted HPC rotors and Hawk ceramic pads up front and 11" rear discs help bring this powerful horse to a stop. This car has been meticulously cared for and is extremely clean with only 53,000 actual miles. It has been signed by John Coletti, Chief SVT Engineer. The custom graphics have been painted and blended with a custom mixture of PPG paint to give the right ghost effect with many coats of clear for that deep shine. The suspension and handling is improved and taken care of through the Eibach Pro System. This kit dropped the car and provided turn on a dime performance. Power is taken from the engine through the spec Stage 3 clutch to the T-45 5 speed, with a Pro 5.0 short throw shifter, through the aluminum driveshaft to the limited slip rear end, with an upgraded 4:11 gears. The power is put to the ground through Kumho tires, sitting on 18" Billet Specialties polished aluminum wheels. This car was chosen to be in Ford Motor Company's 100-year Anniversary. It's an award-winner over and over again.
