Description
Lot #1215.1 - This beautiful 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS5 had a complete frame-off restoration that was completed in 2007. The stunning Fathom Blue paint is complimented by the black vinyl interior. The original matching numbers engine received a fresh rebuild. The car is equipped with the Cowl Induction Hood, Turbo Hydro-matic 400 automatic transmission and 3.31 rear end gears. Restoration included extensive research and efforts to achieve correct frame markings and labels. Photo documentation of various casting numbers and casting dates along with original options. The suspension includes the correct spiral shock absorbers. The headlights are the correct T-3 markings. The chrome is all new or re-chromed. Original options included the AM/FM radio and tilt column with simulated wood steering wheel. Only about 3% of 1970 Chevelles were equipped with the tilt steering column. The car is documented with the original factory Build Sheet showing all the original options and equipment. Built the first week in June 1970 at the Baltimore, MD, assembly plant, this car was delivered to Ray Benson Chevrolet in Utica, NY. This highly sought after model had less total production than the LS6. The original matching numbers engine, correct Fathom Blue paint, white stripes and original Build Sheet make this one of the finest muscle car investments.
