Description
Lot #1275 - Fully documented from start to finish with photos and receipts, this '55 Chevy was built by Mike Cochran in his Kreative Images facility-- A 3 ? year build process with intense attention to every detail of the undercarriage just as seen on the exterior body and engine bay. The body mods are many but subtle. Read the Spec Sheet carefully to understand just a few of the changes that went into creating the concept and bringing the technology into today. The entire underside of the car including the frame, floor pan, wheel wells and all running gear was de-burred, blocked, filled, shaped and painted to a high-quality PPG show finish. Firewall was smoothed and molded for engine and transmission clearance. Front and rear bumpers were cut, sectioned and refit to tighten clearance for alignment to body. Engine is a 405hp LS6 Corvette motor from Street and Performance with complete show package and polished Lingenfelter Injection runner. 4L60E transmission and Ford 9" rear end were de-burred and smoothed for a show-quality painted base coat/clear coat finish. California one-piece chassis was extensively modified then filled, smoothed, shaped and powdercoated. Custom designed and CNC machined trailing arms were made from solid steel stock, chromed and then installed in custom pockets built into the frame to create the low stance and an amazing ride. Front suspension is narrowed 1" with polished stainless steel A-arms from Heidt with Alden coil covers. Stainless fuel tank was hand-fabricated out of mirrored stainless and designed to eliminate hanging below the bumpers. Fuel lines are stainless and concealed in a recessed trough on top of frame to retain a smooth, clean appearance underneath frame. All four corners have polished 4-piston SSBC Force 10 polished brake calipers with 11 ?" and 13" rotors. All air conditioning lines, transmission lines and heater hoses were hard lined with polished stainless lines. Spindles and steering arms were de-burred and smoothed for a base coat/clear coat finish. All rear suspension points were custom fabricated. Adjustable Alden coilover shocks on all four corners. Dash consists of a custom, one-off classic instrument gauge cluster. Center console was hand-fabricated from sheet metal and tubing to retain stereo, A/C controls and miscellaneous switches. This was custom designed to keep a clean, smooth look and to accommodate the rear seat area with cool air. Interior includes Lincoln electric bucket seats with Leather, Utrasuede, and Ultraleather through out with the design concept carried into the trunk. The headliner is a 1-piece design. Car has 108 miles since build. This car has been in "Super Chevy's Classic's Edition" and won numerous awards including Best of Show in the Portland Roadster Show, Silver Cup in the Seattle Roadster Show and other awards such as Best Chassis, Best Interior, Best Engine Bay and Best Paint.
