Lot #692 - 1932 Ford 6-wheel Deluxe Phaeton V8. 1936 Ford engine with inserts and 1936 synchronized transmission, hydraulic brakes, LeBaron Bonney interior and top. DuPont base coat clear coat on body with DuPont enamel with hardener on wheels. Purchased at an auction in 1991 and brought home in many boxes. Ground-up restoration started in the Winter of 2002 and completed Spring of 2003. Car was displayed at the 100th Anniversary of Ford Motor Company V8 Progress of Ford display. A friend and I completed the restoration. Drivetrain is completely rebuilt. 1936 Ford engine, 221cid/85hp with insert bearings, 2-barrel Stromberg 97 rebuilt carburetor and has approximately 2,800 miles since completion. Adjustable lifters, hardened valve seats and balanced crank, rods and aluminum pistons. New radiator, rebuilt water pumps, generator and starter. Clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearings and exhaust system are new. Hydraulic brakes, wheel cylinders, master cylinders and brake lines, as well as wheel bearings, races and seals, are new also. The hydraulic brakes were added for safety. The chassis and body were completely sandblasted. All nuts, bolts and washers have been replaced by original-style reproductions. New whitewall tires and tubes with metal stems. The body paint is 3 coats base and 5 coats clear, color sanded and power buffed. The color combination of Medium Brewster Green body, Dark Brewster Green belting with silver-white pin stripe and Apple Green wheels is a 1932 authentic color combination. The brown leather interior and tan canvas top are authentic to 1932 also.
