Description
George Harrison signed acoustic guitar, together
with autograph book signed by Harrison in 1964.
An acoustic guitar, signed George Harrison on the
main body, together with an autograph book signed on one page George Harrison in ink. The guitar's owner obtained the signatures at a party
held for his sister, Dawn's, 20th birthday on Saturday
29th February 1964. Being a leap year baby she always made her real birthday a celebration, and what could have been more impressive than it being attended by one of the Fab Four. The
party was held at their parents' house in a suburb
of London. Dawn, at the time, worked for EMI
Records and was based at Manchester Square, London, and in her spare time helped run a fan club for Bobby Shafto. George turned up at the party unannounced with Bobby Shafto, in an E
Type Jaguar, after having only recently returned
from the Beatles successful first ever tour of
America.The guitar's owner, who was 13 years
old at the time, persuaded George to not only
sign this acoustic guitar but also his autograph
book.He recalls how George added three kisses to the book's autograph, but on realising his signature
was for a young teenage boy he quickly crossed out the three x's. Reserve $1,600.00
