Description
James Brown Chicago Regal Theatre Concert
Poster, 1966.
Brown had been enjoying immeasurable success
since his 1963 landmark album, Live At The Apollo,
introduced him to a more universal fan base.
Until that time, his dynamic stage shows were enjoyed
primarily by black audiences Subsequent
Top Ten hits in '65 with Papa's Got A Brand New
Bag and I Got You (I Feel Good), and his then current
smash, the emotional, It's A Man's Man's
Man's World, went far towards establishing Brown
as the hardest working man in show business! On
board with Brown & His Famous Flames for this
one-week stand at Chicago's Regal Theatre were
frequent tour mate, Bobby Byrd, James Crawford,
Vicki Anderson and a host of others. This cardboard
poster has had some professional restoration
undertaken. A horizontal crease across the
middle has been softened, while much of the
right-hand border area has been re-colored, as
have the corners.
56 x 36 cm. (21.84 x 14.04 in.) No Reserve.
