Description
Lot #117 - On December 17, 1970 I purchased this genuine one-of-a-kind original (non-restored) high-performance muscle car. Little did I know back then, that my car would become one of the rarest and most desirable Mustangs ever produced during the true Muscle Car era! According to Marti Auto Works; my car is 1 of ONLY 1 ever manufactured with: a 429 Super Cobra Jet Engine (375 HP.. deliberately underrated from the factory for insurance purposes), Drag-Pack option, 4-speed close ratio manual transmission, Grabber Lime exterior paint and Green Clarion knit/ Corithian Interior. In fact, Marti Auto Works has determined that during 1971; only 2 other 429 SCJ Mustang Mach 1's were produced with the Grabber Lime exterior paint scheme; each of which came through with black interior! Thus, out of all 531 429 SCJ Mustang Mach 1's ever made; I have the ONLY one with a Grabber Lime Exterior and Green Clarion knit/Corinthian interior. Consequently, I wold wager that mine is likely the ONLY remaining ORIGINAL-OWNER/PRISTINE/NON-RESTORATION 429 Super Cobra Jet, Ford Mustang Mach 1 yet existent upon this planet! What further makes this car a rarity is the fact that my car has never been in an accident. It also has been garage-kept since December 17, 1970. Nearly every portion of this car is original. It has: Original 429 Super Cobra Jet Engine (375 hp), Grabber-Lime factory paint w/ flat black hood, Green Clarion knit/ Corinthian vinyl bucket seats/Interior, NASA Style-Hood, dual ram induction which includes: Functional air scoops, hood lock pins and ram air engine decals, Magnum 500 wheels, side mirrors & rear-view mirror, head, tail and parking lamp lenses, steering column, dash gauges, AM radio, space-saver spare tire, temporary license, invoice from Heimbach Ford, Palmerton, PA made out in my name. According to the magazine entitled Mustang Monthly; The 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 429 SCJ Drag-Pack cars were voted among the baddest Mustangs of all time!!!
