Description
Lot #1542.1 - What could be better than a 1971 Challenger Convertible? A 1971 Challenger Convertible powered by the notorious Trans Am drive train! Starting out as a very straight rust free 1971 convertible, this Challenger was transformed into a formidable road car with the help of a 1970 Challenger T/A running gear to include the 340 six pack engine, sure grip rear, complete suspension, brakes, all trim, and gauges, snorkel hood and of course the T/A striping. Refinished in period correct Plum Crazy Purple, this Challenger makes a statement, boasting 17" American Racing Wheels, 4-speed pistol grip shifted transmission and factory correct side exhaust. With fewer than 2000 miles since its rotisserie restoration, this Challenger has all items rebuilt or replaced with new so that everything operates perfectly. A new black convertible top and a black interior finish off this restoration making this Challenger a pleasure to own, show, or drive. Built with the utmost of pride and craftsmanship this is the Challenger that Dodge should have built and would have built if only they had the foresight. Drive this convertible with confidence knowing that careful attention was paid to make this Challenger better than new.
