Description
Lot #1031 - One of 826 original 1969.5 440 six pack, 4 speed, A12 package "M code" hardtops produced. This legendary "lift-off hood" cars are the ultimate MOPAR muscle car of all time, and are listed as #3 on the famous "Fifty Fastest Musclecars" list published by Car Review Magazine running 12.91 at 111 mph out of the box and only beaten by the 427 Cobra and L88 Corvette! Factory equipped with a 4.10 Dana 60 rear axle, Hemi suspension, and only essential "go fast" parts, these were the first six pack cars built and only had a 3 month production run. This is pure, bare bones, no frills factory muscle - no hubcaps, no power steering or brakes, no sissy highway gears - a finely tuned weapon with no pretensions of being anything other than a street legal drag car. By 1970, MOPAR had tamed the six pack cars and the A12 package was gone. This example is a documented, original R4 red stripe delete, never rusted, California "Black Plate" car. Previously owned and restored to concours condition by A12 authority Peter Ciccone. It has 100% original sheetmetal and is numbers matching with the exception of a proper date code correct six pack block that has been stamped with the original VIN for show judging. The engine may look stock, but it has the best internals money can buy and is now a 500 cubic inch bulletproof monster that makes nearly 600 horsepower. Full specs will be given to the purchaser. The performance can only be described as brutal! Documentation for this car includes the original factory broadcast sheet, original California black plates, original fender tag, a photo album of the restoration, full restoration receipts, and a complete visual inspection report from Galen Govier. This is a show ready, fully sorted and meticulously restored car. It is without question one of the finest A12 lift-off cars in existence.
